The Nissan Pathfinder, now two years into a full redesign, is looking better than ever. Learn more about its top features below before you visit Rothrock Motors in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to take it for a test drive

For 2024, the Pathfinder is offered at the following five trim levels: S, SV, SL, Rock Creek Edition, and Platinum.

Rugged good looks

Almost every brand has at least one car they try to design as rugged as possible, but few of them nail the look as well as Nissan has done with the 2024 Pathfinder. Eye-catching at any angle, the Pathfinder’s wide stance, muscular fenders, and blunt front end give the SUV an air of strength that speaks of weekend adventures. It’s not all rough-and-tumble, though. In the standard LED headlights and slim LED taillights, you’ll find touches of refinement that feel at home in city driving. There’s also neat details for those who pay attention, like the front grille slots and rear side windows inspired by the original 1986 model. You can choose between 14 exterior colors including five two-tone combinations, all of which look good.

Capable V6 performance

All 2024 Nissan Pathfinder models are powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine, which generates 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. Using a nine-speed automatic transmission, it sends power to the front wheels by default, though an all-wheel-drive system is offered at every trim level. This system adds seven driving modes, including Sand and Mud/Rut. Performance is good by every metric for the class. It accelerates from 0-60 mph quicker than rivals like the Kia Telluride or Toyota Highlander, and its maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds is unmatched. Its closest rival in that category, the Ford Explorer, comes up short by 400 pounds. This makes the Pathfinder one of the very few three-row SUVs of this size that can handle towing a small RV.

Modern connectivity features

The latest Nissan Pathfinder is well equipped, featuring an 8-inch infotainment touch-screen display at S and SV trim levels, and a 9-inch touch screen on the SL and Platinum. Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® come standard regardless of the screen size, though the larger ones benefit from wireless connectivity. Notable options include 12.3-inch digital gauges, built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless device charger, satellite radio, navigation, and head-up display. You can also equip the Pathfinder with a 13-speaker Bose® premium sound system. When fully kitted out, this three-row Nissan SUV can feel more luxe than its price tag suggests.

Excellent standard safety

As with most new Nissan models, every 2024 Pathfinder that rolls off the factory line features a wide range of advanced driver assistance systems as part of Nissan Safety Shield® 360. These include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. Even better, most Nissan Pathfinder trims — from the SV and up — are offered with ProPILOT Assist, which combines some of the driver assistance systems to provide limited hands-free driving functionality. And from the SL and up, you also get a standard 360-degree Intelligent Around View® Monitor that makes it easier to get around in tight spots.

Top comfort amenities

The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder’s interior is a comfy place. It can seat up to eight, or seven if you swap the second row with captain’s chairs, and features quite a lot of storage space both inside the cabin and in the trunk — which is easily accessible thanks to the hands-free power liftgate. For families, the EZ Flex® second-row Seating System is a godsend, as it’s able to slide and tilt the chairs forward at just the push of a button — even with a child seat in place — to enhance rear access. With all the seats folded flat, you have access to an impressive 80.5 cubic feet of space in the trunk. And if you expect to spend a lot of time on Pennsylvania roads, it’s probably worth upgrading to the trims that feature the heated and ventilated, semi-aniline leather seats.
