Documents To Bring When Buying - Allentown, PA
There is a lot of “I-dotting” and “T-crossing” you need to do when purchasing a new car, but you will not get very far in that process without having all your proper documentation on hand. When you sit down at the dealership to sign on those dotted lines, be sure you have all of the following documents with you.
-
A Valid Driver’s License
Your driver’s license must be current, unexpired, and your own. If anyone is co-signing with you, make sure they also have their current driver’s license or other form of identity verification, such as a state I.D.
-
Insurance Card
As with your driver’s license, your proof of insurance, or insurance card, must be up-to-date and unexpired. Typically, your old plan will cover your new vehicle for up to four days, but be sure to contact your insurance agent as soon as possible to transfer coverage to your new vehicle officially.
-
Trade Documentation
Are you trading in an old car when you purchase your new car? If so, you will need to bring in the old car’s title and registration or, if loaned, its loan release.
-
Two recent pay stubs
You need to prove your income at the time of sale. Bring in at least your last two recent pay stubs. If you have multiple jobs, be sure to bring in your two most recent pay stubs from all of them.
-
Proof of Residency
Your residential address needs to be confirmed. You can prove your residency with any current utility bill (gas or electric, for example).
-
List of References
You may be required to provide references to qualify for your loan. Be sure to have a clear list of at least three people and their contact information (phone number, home address, and email address). Your references cannot share the same residence as you.
Not all of these documents may be required, but it doesn’t hurt to bring them along just in case. No matter what, at Rothrock Motors we strive to make the car buying process as easy and painless as possible.
